Congradulations guys,
Look at the head on that cat. HUGE!!!

I am a little jealous myself. Hmmm when is my next trip to Africa?

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Phil, next time we will have to improve on the Jackal, buff and porcupine. The porcupine you got has a few quills less than the ideal trophy porcupine Wink

I couldn't believe how the trackers would just dig their hands into the gut piles to smear the guts all over at the leopard baits and I felt bad about it. I brought some rubber purple gloves with me and thought I would help the cause by donating them. The look I got from Mudini was like you got to be kidding, I am not going to wear purple gloves hahahaha

Yes they were from there. We saw 2 small bulls the one day and saw fresh tracks and trees pushed over every 2 or 3 days there. There was even a roaming single male Lion that was in the area

Hunts like this one contribute to the reason Labat won PH of the year last year. He is a true hunter. Congratulations to all involved.
So looking forward to my Trophy Bull Elephant hunt with Thierry.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Labat...PH of the year...? Really?
Does that mean Permanently Hilarious? Or Perpetually Horny? Or Probably Hiding (at the golf course in Harare)? Or Pissed and Happy? Or ....
I'm sure many can fill I some more blanks...lol
He is an Amazing PH and friend, and my wife and I just booked another great adventure with him for 2013!!
-memories you will NEVER forget!!
- I hunted with Nube this year, in Zim (we hunt all over together)..what a great time, great adventure, great friends, great area!!
Although I am still pretty sure that Nube and Thierry went ut and shot my kudu and nyala...Smiler
-Thierry has a new name by the way.....it's "Slip Knot"
-Thierry, when you get back, explain to the throngs of fans, how you came about your new name....

I'm still waiting for your report Brett and don't want to miss it!! It was nice to chat on the phone the other night. It really has answered a lot of questions about my Marco polo and Ibex hunt. Thanks for the insight.
