Cignani,
Thanks for your reply. Please answer a couple of other questions for me. I have heard that at Kazuma you can hunt till black dark for leopards over bait. While I matetsi you can only hunt till dusk. Would you know anything about this? It is supposedly because Kazuma is a national forest, while Matetsi is handled by Zim Game and Fish: Different regulations??? Also specifically what plains game did you get? I have heard some areas around matetsi can be limited in plains game variety due to primarily being a big game concession (cats hunt plains game). I am looking for good waterbuck, eland, zebra and warthog.

hugh, Kazuma is an excellent area to hunt for elephant later in the year, and is also a great place to hunt for lion early in the year. There are also very good buffalo, kudu and sable in this area. You will not have a problem with zebra or warthog either. waterbuck are not abundant, but you may get a nice one as well. Kazuma is not the biggest concession, but big enough for a great hunt. The camp is nice and you will enjoy your safari there. I have hunted there many times and have enjoyed every single safari to that area. As I said though, it just depends on what you are after according to when the best time is there. If you are after elephant, do not go before September, and if you are just after cats then go earlier on in May or June. Yes, you can use lights in kazuma as it is a Forestry concession, but even with that, you should not have to use any lights there for leopard. I have never had to use a light on a cat in kazuma with any of my clients before, but the option is there. Kazuma is a great place for nice sable and nice buffalo. You will see plains game there, but is not what you would call a great plains game area, but during your safari, you should see most of the stuff. You must remember that Kazuma is an area that the game usually come and go through bewtween Botswana and Zim. Some times you see more game than other times, and that is just because the game comes and goes through that block.
