jkhunterTimbavati Dugga Buffalo hunt as advertised on AR
I own double rifles but I am not a technical wizard on them,
So I don't know all the slang and terminology, but to the best of my knowledge, the Rigby Side lock does not have side clips and the side locks are fixed not detachable,
to the best of my limited knowledge again I think Rigby either made a box lock or side lock double they did not bake a box lock with side plates to make it look like a side lock,

JKH,
They were indeed made in both box and side lock configurations though I very much doubt Rigby's would ever have lowered itself to faking side plates on a boxed action.

Upton O. GoodI see a lot of photos of bulls that are really pretty, they're actually herd bulls living apart from the herds and are still breeding the cows. Their genetic contribution is still in play. Your bull is done, he is a true "dagga boy" in my eyes, what character, what a life he had lived. Very well done, sir.

Naki:
It is possible that some C&H shotguns were designed with side clips and it might be that some light calibre DRs were built for the Indian market on the same "reinforced" 12 gauge action to prevent the assembly from coming apart prematurely - I somehow doubt C&H ever built such rifles though they did produce box locks with engraved side plates as an added embellishment.
What I do have which is not common and quite interesting (to some, not all) is a .500 NE built on a clam shell design action.

Great buffalo, the Rigby looks pretty nice to.
Why would that rifle even be touching the sand?
