ANIMALS TAKEN BY MYSELF:Giraffe, eland, gemsbok, steenbok, and warthog
ANIMALS TAKEN BY MY CLIENTS: 2-zebra,2-hartebeest,3-blue wildebeest,2-steenbok, 2-kudu,2-warthog, gemsbok,eland,porcupine, 3-impala,
DATES: July 3-10

This was my 2nd safari with Cheetah Safaris and my 3 clients first time in Africa. I am a full time taxidermist and put this whole trip together as a way to get back to Africa and have enough work when I returned home to pay for it!!!! My wife and I hunted with Cheetah in 2008 and it was the most amazing trip we had ever been on....we took 8 animals in 7 days of hunting including my wife shooting a 58" kudu. Since 2008 Iv'e thought about hunting Africa every single day!!!! I finally got three of my taxidermy clients who were as eager to get to Africa as I was and the trip was booked. Let me start by saying that Cheetah upheld their end of the bargain as this trip was better than the first if that's possible. One of the things that I especially like about Cheetah they really do try to shoot ONLY trophy size animals....they are not a numbers game outfit...as this being the case the first day of our hunt the only thing taken was a nice warthog and we saw alot of game. Stephan our PH kept saying"don't shoot we'll find a better one " I have to admit I was getting a little frustrated because I wanted my clients SHOOTING. Well he and the other PH Hendrick did back up what they said and after 7 days of hard hunting we had 24 trophy animals in the salt. There was not a runt in the bunch we all shot QUALITY animals!!!!!! Long story short there is now three other guys who can't wait to get back to Africa and my wife and I have our next hunt booked for the East Cape for next May with Dave at Leopards Vally Safaris. Now if I can get the pics to load here is my 5 trophies.......Enjoy the pics Shawn [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG] [IMG:left] [/IMG]

Congrats on a great hunt. Love the giraffe I will be going next year and Hope I can get one as nice as that. Looks like your eland survived some cat attacks.

Thanks!

Congratulations on what sounds like a wonderful hunt. I love old, worn-down trophies like your eland and warthog, and your giraffe photo is so good it makes me want one of my own!

Absolutely agree! Big smiles make photos! I have never understood why some people either wont smile or put on a scowl in their field photos.

Congrats on your hunt and excellent pictures! Thanks for sharing
