I just returned from a Coues hunt in Sonora, Mexico. Hunted with Full Curl Outfitters of Arizona booked it here on AR. Great hard working guys, Chase Christopher and Jay Park. They also own The Mountain Project which is a video company that makes hunting films. And they both have full time jobs. We found and took a 116 5/8 Coues deer there which was what I was looking for. Last year they took a 125 and a 122 plus two more that also made the book. That is 100% as they had four hunters. They scout in all their spare time it seems and know what they are looking for. Sharp eyes and all Swaro optics help-even the vaqueros have eagle eyes. They also have very accurate rifles for the clients if they don't want to bring their own. Proof Research rifles with dope to way out there. I just used my 270. It always seems to work. The food was local fare and plenty of it. They hired two ladies from a local village who did a good job. Even made homemade tortillas. The only hard part was the drive from the pavement to the ranch house where we stayed. Rough road and slow but quite an adventure. Of course, I like adventure so it was fun. Just part of third world hunting. I will post some photos if I can get some help on the process. Every ranch in Sonora may not have book Coues deer, but you can bet they all have home made tortillas! | |||

Cool... taking it that you flew into Hermosillo and drove from there? Looking forward to the pictures also! On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. No, flew to Tucson and drove from there. Hermosillo would have been way easier. ...I say that hunters go into Paradise when they die, and live in this world more joyfully than any other men. -Edward, duke of York ". . . when a man has shot an elephant his life is full." ~John Alfred Jordan "The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt.
