Hunt Dates: August 31 - September 9, 2013
Travel Agent: STALKER (Moscow)\ Yuri Morozov
Country: Tanzania
Outfitter: MICHEL MANTHEAKIS SAFARIS
PH: Colin Blakely
Area: Lukwati
Gun: rented Winchester 70 375 H&H

Finally my first African safari! 10 days package including 2 buffalos, hartebeest, zebra, impala, warthog, baboon.

First buffalo. 3 hours stalking. No spread, no bosses Smiler Actually, taken by mistake. But anyway, I love it because it's my first buffalo.

At least it has nice curl Smiler

Hartebeest. 2.5 hours stalking. Nice old guy.

Zebra. 3 steps from car )

Second buffalo. 8 hours (!) stalking. We saw him in the evening, but trackers managed to find him next day! 6 bullets (2 neck, 2 shoulders, 1 spinal, 1 head). Wonderful old warrior. Huge bosses 14".

Impala. Taken from 232 yards. 4 shots, 3 - at impala.

As usual, best trophies were met after closing all licenses Smiler

About area. Open bush (miombo). A lot of water, few rivers. Almost no mosquitos, but huge amount of tse-tse flies. A lot of buffalos, hartebeests, zebras, sables, giraffes, warthoges. Were seen elephants, elands, bushbucks, greater kudus, impalas, klipspringers.

I hunted with my friend with the same package. He hunted with PH Ken Blakely.

Nice area. A lot of animals which have never seen a man. High lever of hunting and camping.

Thanks again to Michel, Colin and all crew!

Thanks to all of you!

All 10 days I had smile on my face Smiler

By the way, I really enjoyed with 375 H&H. Before this hunt I thought about 416 for Africa, but now I will take 375 without any doubts.

I planned my first safari in Namibia, then Zim. But I could not go there due to circumstances out of my control. At last my friend canceled his safari in Tanzania and I decided go. As you understand, I've never regretted Smiler

We did not see lions, but saw many fresh tracks, hairs. We heard them at nights. We even stalked same buffalos sometimes Smiler

I saw 3 ele. One of them was at least 60 lbs. Lots of tracks too.

You should see buff in the hundreds if not thousands from reports I have heard...read Aarons report from last year.

Roman: Sir, congrats to you - how exciting!

Safari2 - Roman would have been hunting Lukwati South. Not quite as many buff/lions as in Lukwati North for sure, probably a few more Sable, etc - but a good area for sure.
