Some may be aware that much of Namibia has been in drought for 3-4 years. Witnessed this myself a couple of weeks ago. Parts North of Windhoek virtually free of the colour green and little feed for livestock or game. There were signs that the wet was on it's way when we left on the 19th but haven't heard if any rain has fallen.
A group of 8 Aussies hunted with Osombahe Nord from the 3rd of October and all were pretty successful, crossing most of the trophies off our lists.
Below are a couple of my better trophies. 58" kudu and a 16" springbok.

That is a great kudu. The springbok is an absolute monster. Congratulations.

Very nice examples you have there, congratulations. It looks cold, by what you are wearing, must have been very early in the day. What rifle did you use?

Yes, the mornings and some evenings got quite cold. The springbok was taken early morning. Rifle is a Blaser R8 Professional Success in .300WM. Without it that kudu would probably have gotten away. Never got a standing shot at him. Was hit with two shots out of three as he bolted away from us. The speed with which the Blaser can be reloaded made the difference on more than one occasion during this trip.

Fantastic trophies. Let's all pray that the November and December rains begin falling. It did rain in Windhoek on Thursday so maybe the weather gods are going to be kind this year.

Awesome trophies and weldone to all involved. Droughts are very sad and pretty emotional. From past experience hang in there wildlife and the habitat recover very quickly. Bring on the rain!!

Thanks. That one was at 284 yards from memory. He was knocked down, then regained his feet, ran about 150 yds and collapsed again. Barnes 165gn TTSX at 3170 FPS.
The kudu was running flatout away from us by the time I started shooting. He copped one in the right ham, then one in the left. Third shot was a miss. He jumped a fence and went perhaps another 150 yards before pulling up. When we caught up he got another in his right shoulder which finished the job.
The hole in the pig is an exit hole BTW.
