Dear friends and Ar members- here is our mid season hunt report- I hope you enjoy it!!

July has come and gone and with it comes our mid season newsletter! The thick bush that had restricted visibility and opportunity in the early part of the season is a thing of the past and we can see that with the increased numbers of plains game that are coming into the skinning shed!

The buffalo have also been excellent and Dande continues produce the results on buffalo that has gained it the reputation as the best buffalo area in the Zambezi Valley.
From when we took over the area 3 years ago we have voluntarily reduced our buffalo quotas from a crazy 120 bulls a season to a very conservative 55 a season. This combined with intense anti poaching and shooting a few lionesses the last couple years, is really showing positive results with lots of mature bulls in the herds and dugga boys popping up everywhere!

While we normally do the majority of our elephant bulls early season we have done a few mid season hunts with very good results as seen below.

Our predator hunts have also been excellent with leopard hunts in particular being very easy in the last few months. Norman Parker even shot 2 leopard on one hunt. Thankfully a few hyenas have also found their way into the skinning shed as well.

On buying out the whole of Dande North, we have the inclusion of 10 km odd of Zambezi River and the beautiful Matombo camp! With it has come has come some super croc and hippo also!

While a lot of clients want buff that have big bosses and nice matching horns we put a lot of emphasis on the “older the better”. It is after all these old bulls that have lived their lives, shared their genes and are the wiliest of them all having outwitted hunter and lion alike for their whole lives! These to us are the worthy trophies and as a result we have decided to present a prestigious prize to the oldest ugliest buffalo shot!

“The Dande Dugga Boy of the Year”

Below are the front-runners in the run for 2014!

Look out for our next newsletter, filled with more superb trophies.

Cheers!
Buzz, Myles and team

I appreciate the vote Steve416. Hope you were referring to the Buff as an "awesome old warrior" and not the hunter...
Had a fabulous time with CMS. They deserve their reputation.

Good on ya, Buzzer!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Have you considered an ugly PH competition?
An ugly client competition could get really interesting for the operator.

To Kev- thanks for the kind gesture and also appreciating and realizing the value of focusing on old bulls rather then just the inches!
