pagosawingnutI know I already posted but I keep looking at that sable and thinking "you damned lucky B_*^%$&!" I am so jealous. That is the one PG animal that has eluded me every single year. What a magnificent Sable.

Duh!! Book with Andrew. The 43 incher I shot with him in 2012 is the dwarf among those taken since. I suspect you would have been happy with it !! I was.

JefffiveThat sable might well be the best Plains Game animal taken this year.

The hartebeest might somehow technically score higher, but if it was twice as long it would never be the trophy that sable is

bwanamrmTruly remarkable trophies gents, well done all around. I agree with Mike, that bloody sable has to have some Giant Sable genetics in him somewhere. Astounding!

georgeldBeautiful collection, all of them!
What I really enjoyed besides the fine writing and great pictures is you named each animal. For some of us not as familiar with them that's a great help. I thank you for that part especially. And congratulations on a perfect hunt.

The Sable maybe 10 plus and the Roan could be as old as 15. Both rarely exceed 16 - 17 in the wild,

Jack D BoldYou set the bar here pretty high gentlemen. I couldn't think of any other place on the planet where such a magnificent bull could be taken.
Although, it makes me wonder/wish if there is another one JUST like him in the Royal Kafue? Hmmm...

The next door PH Adam Buske took a 48.5 last year and as Sable are great wanderers you never know what will move in during the rains.
However I always have stated that a mature bull in the 40 inch class is a very worthy trophy indeed.
