What an amazing hunt!! Long story short we compressed a 21 day full bag into 10 days. We hunted July 23nd - August 1st '10 We hunted the Selous LU5 concession of Tanzania. I hunted with PH Brian Van Blerk, and 2 amazing trackers with Tanzania Bundu Safaris. The other PH's with the 2 trucks were Wayne Clark and Shawn Kelly. We had a full bag permit which amounted to about 60 animals for our group. We were on the cats the last few days but was never able to take a shot, however the 2nd group took 3 leopards. We saw too many animals to list and even had the opportunity to watch a small pack of wild dogs on 2 occasions. We took 6 Buffalo, 3 hippos, crock, kudu, Baboons, Duiker, Hartebeest, Hyena, Warthog, Waterbuck, Wildebeest and Impala. I took a very nice Wildebeest, a hippo, a baboon and on the last full day a nice Cape. I should have had a Kudu, but dummy me had not turned my hunting brain on yet,I had left a glass bottle on the truck seat and just as I was picking my gun up, it fell in the truck. So needless to say a kudu has my name on it in a few years! Everything about the trip was top notch! Considering the remoteness of the concession the camp was great and camp food was excellent(however I never partook of the Buffalo testicles). Adam Clements and his team behind the scenes deserve a great amount of credit! We are a very satisfied long time client!

~229 yard frontal chest shot. I was back at the truck and had to squat run to get up to the gun. Heart pounding, hold breath squeeze..

~30 yard shot right between the eyes looking at us, the 300gr Sledgehammer dropped him straight down.

Had to take a spine shot, tall grass blocked heart/lung shot.

Jason

That's a group of outlaws in that last picture. Brian, Wayne and Sean! That should have been a great safari even without the great hunting.

samir,

It is a Nyasa wildebeest and as far as I know it is only huntable in the Selous.

Nice hunt... I still need to get to the Selous one day!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.
