Dear friends, With temperatures well into 40’C we are happy that we are finishing up the season earlier than last year. We have a few hunts left, including 3 big elephant bull hunts in Forestry areas, after which we hope to be able to report some big ele’s taken in our final newsletter! It has been excellent hunting since our last correspondence with some super trophies taken. Below are some of the buffalo taken. Once again we strongly emphasis taking mature hard bossed bulls which often results in one shooting a bull that is not of Roland award quality but in our eyes a far greater trophy for it. With the bulk of our cats and elephant done early season we only have had two leopard and elephant bull hunts done since the second newsletter - they were a success with two nice big male leopards and two ele bulls taken as below. The lions have been hard this year and with a new age restriction in place in Zim we feel that as of next season, it will be fair to sell lions at a much reduced daily rate and a higher trophy fee – so anyone interested in this please give us a call!! [IMG] [/IMG] As a company we have always felt that it is important we give back to hunting, whether it is to the communities in the hunting area (our community trusts i.e. dams schools and social funds), funding the Dande Anti Poaching Unit (DAPU) or reintroducing Zebra to the east. [IMG] [/IMG] We also donated a buffalo hunt with all proceeds going to Anthony Howland, who had an injury where by his arm was shot off two years previously. This hunt was generously bought by good friends Jytte and Julia and I am happy to say that all funds generated by this hunt meant that Anthony was able to buy a new vehicle in which to set up a farming enterprise in Zambia - I big thanks go to Jytte, Julia as well as all the other contributors in this good cause - Aaron Nielson, Saeed, “Top Shot”, Brad Wroe, Dande Council and Jeff Sevor. A full hunt report can be read on accuratereloading.com. [IMG] [/IMG] As is always the case, the plains game improves later in the season and hunters hunting later, as seen below, shot a nice bag of all species in the Valley. [IMG] [/IMG] As you will all know CMS has made a huge effort with our Anti Poaching through DAPU! With the help of Siraaj, who has done a wonderful job of streamlining DAPU, we have had continued successes. These successes would not be possible without the generous support of you, the clients, and I would like to thanks all that have generously donated to DAPU. For a year now, after a series of successful operations whereby through DAPU and Parks we “eliminated” several elephant poachers, we have seen hardly any poached elephant. Unfortunately in the last 2 months a new gang has moved in and we have had 4 elephants poached. In every case DAPU has tracked them, but they have either crossed into Zambia or Mozambique. I am confident though that it is only a matter of time before we have contact with this gang. Another worrying trend is the use of poison - this is an indiscriminate killer. We have managed to arrest several poachers who have killed various animals including leopard and elephant using cyanide - commonly known as ‘two step’, as that is how long it takes for the animals to die once they have eaten or drunk the poison. While we feel that we are on top of the situation it costs money and any donations no matter how small are greatly appreciated. You can also donate by buying one of Peter Stewart’s wonderful prints, he has generously donated 40% of the price to DAPU. Being a lover of art I can honestly say that his work is as good as any I have ever seen! All the best, do keep in touch – Buzz, Myles and the CMS team

On another sadder note we have decided not to use full names on our newsletter due to the continued harassment to us and more importantly our clients!
