Thanks for the great report Larry.

My wife and I are considering the BVC.

This is the first time I am reading about particular issues with allergic reactions...and it is mentioned twice in this thread.

Is there something indigenous to the BVC that we Westerners are particularly sensitive to?

Anything that Zyrtec or similar can help with?

Sorry for the hijack, but the allergy thing being mentioned several times has me thinking more research might be needed!

I can tell you this. I use a CPAP machine. I have a travel CPAP that I had with me. I traveled last weekend and used the machine. I had a horrible allergy attack after using the machine. Then it hit me that I was breathing air that had come through the filter that had not been washed since our return. I was getting whatever had hammered in Zim once again. Not that I had any doubt, but this confirmed that it was definitely some allergic reaction.

I was taking Allegra, Flonase and Montelukast on a daily basis and do so every day. These did not stop it.

Larry, it was mold spores from the thatch...it's happened to me. I'm very sensitive to it (and other allergens). Mold would absolutely thrive in those conditions.
You sucked them into the Cpap..also a moist environment..

Larry, how is Pete progressing in gaining acceptance of his decision to come out of the closet on being transgender?

He is trying to keep it quiet. As you know, it is against the law to be gay in Zim.

I do have to admit that it was bit disturbing see him walking through the bush in a skirt.

If he is going to follow through with this, I do hope he learns to be more lady like or start wearing pants again. It was a bit revolting to see him spread his legs every time he stood up from a chair! rotflmo

Revolting to say the least Larry. As they say in Zim, I can certainly imagine that his hamerkop nest seriously needs attending to. Wink

Glad you had a great hunt . . . despite the visual challenges.

Well, I did okay with the buff pic. Every other picture I have tried is too big. What a pain.

I'm certain you had a great time Larry, but the fact you had to spend the entire safari with Pete must have been extremely painful sir??!! Cool

Great report Larry, I hope your wife enjoyed the trip as much as you did. I stayed in that camp in 2004, nice part of BVC.
