My Son and I hunted Namibia last year. I just received confirmation from our PH that 4 of our animals have been accepted by Rowland Ward for inclusion in the 2006 Record book. Kudu, Red Hartebeast, Duiker and Springbok.
It was our first trip to Africa and we are not trophy hunters. We just wanted better than average animals. I think we got them!

TJ

That is one of the differences between good PH and one not so good. The guy had his own standards and wanted you to shoot terrific animals even if you really were not that concerned. Well done!

Mark;
I agree. Young guy not well known in USA. One man operation. Bought the hunt at SCI auction. I Lucked out big time!
hook:
Ph was Hentie Van Heerden, not connected with the other Van Heerdens with the bad press. Does not use an Outfitter. His prices are cheaper than any I've seen............
2x1.....$200US
Kudu....$750
Oryx....$420
Hartebeast..$480
Springbok...$310
Born and raised in Namibia. Was old friends with all the farmers where we hunted. We had 118 square miles to hunt on. Hard to screw up a deal like that. My Kudu missed R.W. by 1"! I could not be happier with anything else. He is the one in my avatar.
I'm going back, next year, God willing and the creek don't rise!

TJ: Congrats on some fine animals. It gives you a good feeling to look at fully mature trophies, and remember the pleasure of the hunt and smiles on the PH's and trackers faces. My trip to Namibia last year was the same, with lots of extra time to look for great animals and be very selective. I scored 8 for SCI, and 5 of them were RW. Best of all of them was also the smallest; it was a 16.5" Springbok with 7" bases.
