I am thinking about a buffalo hunt in Charara with Pro Safaris next year and am looking to talk to anyone who has hunted there in the last year or two. Please feel free to PM me if you prefer. Thanks!

I think Charara is leased by a person (or his wife) who is part of the "inner circle", and possibly on the black list. Charara is a sticky one. It certainly has a question mark over its current operators. The Zimbabwe Professional Hunters and Guides association(ZPHGA) see website, will be able to provide further detailed information

My second hunt with Pro Safaris was the last week of June 09 in Charara. Saw plenty of buff in small herds up to 30. Also plenty of elephants {up close and personal} The lake was extremely high and creek beds had pools of water. Extremely thick and green for that time of year. All paper work at camp was professionally and properly filled out. I hunted with Spike Clausen, but the whole staff at Pro Safaris are top notch Ph's. You can't go wrong hunting with them.

I agree with above comments and know nothing abaout Charara but would not hesitate to hunt with Pro Africa Safaris. Frik Muller is as straight as they come. I would just ask them straight out about the area. Larry York, SC

I have hunted in the Omay with Frik and he is great. We were successful on buffalo. "In these days of mouth-foaming Disneyism......"--- Capstick Don't blame the hunters for what the poachers do!---me Benefactor Member NRA
