I have been interested in the design of Stoner's SR-50 for some time but can't find much about it. I know he preferred the direct-impingement system, but looking at the photo on Security Arms, it looks like he may have opted for an anular piston instead. Some compare the SR-50 to the FG-42, primarily due to the horizontal magazine, I suppose. To me, it looks much more like the model 1929 Solothurn. It certainly very clean and tidy in appearance. Does anyone know where I could find a cross- sectional drawing of the action, a patent number, or better yet, does anyone here have personal ezperience with this very interesting .50?
