THAT right there is one of the luckiest men ever to live. Wonder if they ever found the bullet. I would make a shadowbox for it and hang it up in the living room. Yea, they were shooting something metallic.

"No, no more iron." Buddy says to wounded friend.

The flattened/tumbling bullet/shrapnel came whistling back audible as it approached pretty slowly, a fraction of MV, struck the ground about 10 to 20 feet in front of the shooter and then bounced up and struck his earmuff or left side of his head knocking the muffs off ... Eeker

I wish they would have shown a closeup of his head ... "Am I bleeding?"

My brother and I were out shooting at a range and someone else was shooting silouettes and one of their Nosler Solid base slugs bounced back and hit him in the heel of his hand as he was reloading a 22pistol magazine.

It was only the solid base of the 165gr Nosler, but it had enough energy to shatter the carpal bone for his pinky and skid under the skin up into his wrist dragging bone fragments with it... if his hand had not been in the way...

But after two surgeries and several pins...

If you shoot at steel near me you need not worry about the potential of richochets, you need to worry about how I will react to them.

that guy was AMAZINGLY lucky...

I had a .38 Special 158-grain SWC (factory) come back and hit my leg. It bounced off a piece of hard and weathered WOOD of all things, and left a big welt.

After that I decided to move my defensive pistol up to a .40 S&W...
