On Modern Weaponology--Richard was checking out the new remote firing system on the big armored truck. It was claimed by the rep that they hit a Coke can with the 50 cal. BMG at 500 yrds.--- first shot.

But of cours they can, that would be a 1/6 or so minute gun in .50 cal.

I have a hard time beliving that a .50 cal can shoot that well consistantly all other aspecs besides.

It's possible that happened once. The question is whether or not the second shot hit anywhere near the first one!

I've made some wild first shots - like the 100 yard first-round from a .40 S&W that hit a 3" swinger that we usually shot rifles with. The rest of the magazine's rounds missed it though.

Sometimes you just get a good or lucky shot.
