I thought I would post this in the 50 BMG section since there are probably more people here that love the "Loud'n Boomers" than on the other discussion groups.

I went to the Oklahoma Full Auto Shoot this year for the second time. I have been to the "Big" shoot at Knob Creek once and I have to say that in my IMHO the Okie shoot beats beats it hands down.

From what I have seen at both shoots, the prices in Ok. were quite a bit cheaper than Knob Creek. 100 rounds of belt fed ammo ran the same price as 50 rounds at Knob creek. It also appeared that there were more weapons available for rental (the firing line in Ok. is 600' long).

I finally met up with Gonhuntin' and his wife while I was there after 2 years and I have to say that they were very friendly. I would not hesitate to meet GH to shoot at his club or mine at any time.

If you live anywhere near the northeast corner of Ok. and like this kind of noise, I recommend this shoot (they set off some impressive demo also).

I am posting the web address if anyone cares to take a look at the site.

Thanks for the info.I've been wanting to get to Knob Creek for 25 years.This might actually be do-able.

Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

baboon,

Don't get me wrong, Knob Creek was an experience and they had a good show, if I hadn't been to the shoot here I probably have gone back (thanks to GH for letting me know about the Ok. get together). Living in Tulsa, a 90 mile drive beats the Hell out of traveling 750 miles. One other thing about the Knob Creek shoot, we had to park about 2 miles from the gate and walk (no shit Cool ). At the Okie shoot, I parked less than 100 yards from the front gate. Not nearly as many people attend the Ok. shoot but that makes it more enjoyable for me. I will bet the crowd will continue to grow at Wyandotte over the years.

A drive from Houston to Wyandotte is a long haul, but it is about 300 miles closer than Knob Creek.

We have a big MG shoot here twice a year. We just had a mini-shoot yesterday but I was wiped out after spending the rent money at the Hilton gunshow and so didn't go. Check out http://www.mustangrange.com for the real deal. This place is only about 10 miles from my house, but we can shoot damned near anywhere here so long as it's outside the city limits and the bullets won't cause anybody any undue stress when they come to earth. Nevada is truly the best place on Earth to own and use a gun.
