This is just a reminder that there is a .50 cal match in Ohio the 27th through the 29th of April. If you were thinking about going to this match, now is the time to get registered. This match, being held at the Thunder Valley Rifle Range in Plainfield, is the first FCSA static target match under the Experimental Match Program run by David Moore. The Match Director for this match is Nick Mullet. Please contact Nick for directions, match registration and anything else that you might need. His contact info is 330-674-3244 or nickmull@yahoo.com. The course of fire is patterned after traditional FCSA matches with minor modifications, five shots per target, 6 targets for record, three per relay, one relay per day. The distance is 1000yd. Friday is sign in, tech inspection and sight-in. Sat and Sun for record relays. There will be no pulled targets, sighting will be done on clay birds. There will be awards and prizes. Please contact Nick for more info. New .50 BMG shooters and spectators are welcome. There will be experienced competitors, manufacturers and FCSA Board members available at the match to help new shooters and to answer questions. Not an FCSA member? Don’t worry, we can sign you up on the spot. Looking to get into the sport? Match are the best place to get close up to many different .50 BMG rifles and to talk to the owners of these rifles. The Experimental Match program’s purpose is to expand the FCSA, utilize more ranges across the US and to bring matches and shooting events closer to the membership.
