Feinstein Attacks The 50 BMG Again

Avowed anti-gun leader Dianne Feinstein is on the attack once again against the 50 BMG target rifle. In what appears to be her latest move to become more politically correct on the "illegal immigration" issue which is heating up across America, she has written a letter dated March 24th, 2006 to the acting commissioner of the US Border Patrol, Deborah Spero. In her letter Senator Feinstein is using the 'Secure America's Borders issue' in trying to enlist the support of the Department of Homeland Security to promote her anti gun agenda by forcing the US Border Patrol to take a stand on the issue of the fifty caliber target rifle.

Her letter is couched more as an effort at 'arm twisting' US Customs and Border Patrol into establishing a policy statement on an issue they would never had contemplated.

In the past Senator Feinstein and her anti-gun crowd have been frustrated by agencies in the federal government not supporting her outrageous comments and claims about the dangers of law abiding citizens owning the 50 BMG. FCI has consistently pointed out to law makers across the country that no federal agency involved in any aspect of the threat against terrorism has singled out any firearm as a "threat to national security" and has carefully refuted her claims and exaggerations.

FCI wants to inform everyone about this latest attack on your right to own firearms. Don't be fooled by Senator Feinstein's charade of words. She is intent on disarming you of every firearm you own. Her using the smoke screen of the 'secure our borders' issue is ludicrous, because it has been politicians like her who have created the problem in the first place and allowed our border patrol agents to now be in harm's way. For her position on that issue alone she needs to be fired. Write to your own US Senator asking them to write their own letters to the US Border Patrol and for them to focus on the real issue of how best to secure America's borders and to not support the anti-gun agenda of politicians like Dianne Feinstein.

We have the same one track PC attitude in Canada. I remember one woman on tv in Ottawa who was ranting on about how firearm owership was a threat to her -imfringed upon her rights and so missed the irony completely of how this would impact on the rights of others.
You can not have a debate with these people as their minds are closed and logic is not involved in this .In Canada the result is that I would have a major problem to get even a simple spring or screw if it now can be considered a gun part.The scary part is that like minded people voted them in and believe in what they doing. Vote.

Feinstein is truly a symbol of the Left's elitist, paternalistic, hypocritical position on this issue (as well as others). It's been quite a while, but IIRC just before she banned handguns in the city of SF (as mayor), she instructed the city's sheriff to issue 10 CCW permits. One went to her, and the other nine went to friends/allies. A recent review of the state's figures on CCW permits shows that SF still has exactly those 10 permits in place.

This reminds me of JFK's asking one of his aides to go buy some huge amount of Habana cigars (it was like 10,000 I think) immediately before imposing the trade embargo on Cuba. More evidence that these "leaders" really don't believe in the laws they pass. Very, very sad...

If you've ever seen Feinstein address ANYTHING anywhere -- on the floor, on TV, in public -- it becomes obvious that she hasn't a clue what she's talking about.

Kerry was the same way. He'd rail about "assault weapons" and have no clue what the law allowed/excluded.

But we're preaching to the choir here.

If I had the $$$ sitting around I would go out and purchase one of these large rifles. I shot my friends Barrett and it was the most fun I have ever had at the shooting range.

I must admit, the recent election prompted me to go ahead and make a purchase now that I was planning to make next year. I wanted to make sure I bought mine while they are still legal to own..
