Have any of you guys seen or used one of these?
Yeah, yeah it isn't a Leupold, but for $117 + freight isn't bad for a variable either.............
Any one???

BTW, who made the rail mount type 2X scope for TC? DAMN that thing is clear! I played with the 35 Remington rimmed this weekend and, well, all I can say is it shoots minute of chicken at 200 with the little 2X scope. Then again it doesn't take much to impress or entertain me [Wink] . Huh and all these years I ways always told about what a crappy and pain in the butt round it is.

Did you make your brass from 30-40 or just shoot standard 35 Remington Brass?

JDJ has been quoted as saying the Simmons is the ONLY scope he did not have come apart on him with some of his big bangers.

Who has the Simmons for 117 and shipping?

I have a couple of the Simmons and they perform pretty well. Optics is where they ALL save or spend their money when they produce scopes. [Wink]

Louis, made it out of the 30-40. Kinda like a large Herrett. The scope was in Mid South Shooters supply 2003 catalog. Just what I need, more optics.
Has Simmons made the variable lately, or just bring them back? I thought it might be a miss print, but it is right in there with the pistol scopes/

Just a note...

Meade is making scopes for Simmons, Weaver, and Redfield.

The 1.5-4x20 and 2.5-8x28 is marketed under Weaver and the 2-6x32 is Simmons. It's kinda funny that these scopes are most likely made in the same plant, but if you put Weaver on the side it's almost $100 more expensive.

Dang Jeff, just because you can shoot one chicken in a minute of elapsed time doesn't mean that you're shooting "minute of chicken" @ 200m! [Wink]

I suspect that it didn't have a problem knocking them chickens over??

The Simmons 2-6X32 is a new offering by Simmons. The Simmons Gold Medal 2.5-7X28 is the one that JDJ highly reccomends. The Weaver 2.5-8X28 Is a good quality scope also, the Bushnell 2-6X32 has survived over 300 rounds through my unbraked 375 JDJ so far without a problem. This may be the same scoope that Simmons is now offering. [Cool]

JSH,
please tell me about your rimmed 35 rem!! I have a super 14 barrel that I can get to shoot most of the time...same old story, resizing the cases is like rocket science in this particular barrel...but the sucker shoots sub 1 inch groups all day long. I read in an old Bellm booklet about the 35 rimmed and was interested, but never heard anyone actually say they had one. Who did the work? Is it really just adding the milling for the rim or does the chamber dimensions really change? Did you have the chamber left at original length or leave the 30-40 full length with a really long neck?
Sorry for all the Q's but this sounds like something I'd like to give a try.
thanks in advance!!
