I always thought the 308 would be about perfect in an Encore.

I did to but, I have a 15" 308Win and my 14" 30-30 Ackley Imp. comes within 10 to 50fps using 150gr pills and less powder to boot.

Come on Nut...lets do the 338-284. I guess we cant split a blank if we both want 18-20 some inch tubes though Dies not too expensive. Could both get chambered by the same shop and work with different bullets and share load data. 284Win brass is not too pricey and the last box I purchased for use in the 25JnkR was pretty consistant. Also planning on necking down the 376Steyr...but thats a different project for a different day.........what you say?

too many damn choices...think a 338 cal would be perfect for the intended game animals though....
