web page Turns out this product is manufactered only 10 miles from where I work. Just got off the phone with the owner (Don). He's going to have one at the local gun shop for me to pick up. Very nice to talk to, very knowlegeable. Even the name of one "Mike Bellm" came up!! I'll give a report on its fit and functionality a.s.a.p. Jeff

Just picked it up and installed on my bench. Will it it work? YES! Is it functional? YES! Is it worth 40.00? NO! Maybe for half that, but a gadget is a gadget. I'll call the owner on Monday and relay my thoughts. But it is a neat setup. Jeff

Jeff; How about a little more information on the fixture. 1) What is the base made of, and the two parts that hold the barrel and lug? I'm concerened with marring the finish on the bottom of the barrel. 2) Will the fixture to all barrel lengths? (10/14/16/21) 3) From the web site pictures, the fixture appears to mount the barrel level, is this correct? From the web site pictures, at this point, IMHO, I agree with you, $40 for this gadget my be a little high.

Here is a description: 1) The base is made of thick aluminum, shaped in a "U" and is very sturdy. I'd say it is about 6-8 inches long. Yhere are 2 small holes in the bottom to secure it to a bench, and 2 larger holes on top that act as a guide to drill pilot holes and to screw in the screws. I used 2 s.s. drywall screws to secure it to my bench. Very sturdy indeed, as my bench is an old pizza table top from 1 of my restaurants. It's 8 feet long by 2 1/2 feet wide and is 2" thick solid oak. 2) the 2 attachments to hold the lug end and the barrel end are made of a white acrylic plastic (my guess) and attach to the base with 2 set screws each (hex key included). The mounts are threaded and are very secure, so far. 3) the barrel is held level, and can be used for Contender or Encore frames, just put the holding pin in further. It will easily hold all barrels, however, I'm not sure of 21" or longer, as I have none to test. 4) It is functional, however, not worth the $40.00 I paid, but someone has to be the tester. I will talk to the owner on Monday and let him know my thoughts on the price. Perhaps a deal can be done for a quantity purchase to bring the price down to say 20 or 25 dollars. This price is definately more attractive to me and I'm sure to alot of others. Any other ? I can answer, feel free to ask. Jeff

I'ld say from looking at the picture that the plastic parts may be Delrin. Good for a non-marring surface. Good idea!

The BEST thing about cleaning a contender, is that you can hold the barrel in one hand and clean it. Why would you need this barrel holder?
