Good loads and 10" barrel is sort of a contradiction of terms. If you had asked me first, I would have said to avoid it almost like the plague. After you shoot it a little, I doubt you will maintain much interest in it. It is really a waste. Too much powder, too slow, in too short of a barrel to do much good. I have seen loads using 4227, and I would think that it would work as well as any in the short barrel, but have no first hand info to offer. If you want max. hp from a 10" in .44, then .445 Super Mag is much better. Its smaller case is better suited to the short barrel. Sorry I cannot be more supportive. Mike | |||
