This was on the TC List but I found it very enjoyable to read and thought I'd put it on AR as well.

I wish I had someplace to shoot that far,I have shot at 500 yards before but those distances are quite amazing for that time.

I've got a couple of those old Trapdoor rifles. I might just get one out and try some shots from hill top to hill top in one of my favorite groundhog fields. I might have a thousand yards or so to work with. An appropriate target may be a good trick. Maybe a 4X8 sheet of ply wood would do it. This could be fun!
