Dug out a 10" 7mm TCU barrel (I have had but not shot since the 80s) to plink and play with cast bullets this summer. I had dug it out to sell it and got to looking at a bunch of cast bullets I had cast for it way back then and just decided that I had wanted something with no recoil to plink with.
Danged if that shiny bore might just shoot some jacketed bullets well.

Anyone out there have some loads they are using in the 10" barrel with the Hornady 7mm SSP pistol bullets (had them since the 80s also.

I have 4895, BL-C2, H-335, WC680, H-380, 3031, that should be in the right burning range, just looking for best OVERALL performance in the 10" barrel.

I am using 7.2 gr. of PSA 11 pistol powder and Lee 130(?) grain GC for 1400 fps. Fun for plinking, but now I have decided to up it and have it in the stable with other barrels for deer.
Got about 120 of the Hornady's (120 SSP) so I will likely stick to it and one of the powdwers I previously listed.
Hey I do have part of an old can of Herco maybe I should be burning it behind those cast bullets.
Now that I have decided to keep the barrel I need a double cavity 130-140 grain mold also, the single cavity Lee is too slow. [Razz]

Deer (4), turkey(6), squirrels(2) and a rabbit all in the yard when I woke up this morning!
23 turkeys fed thru yesterday afternoon . . . yes I would say turkeys have become established in middle Tennessee! [Cool]

I'd start with 27 grain of H335 and work up from there a half-grain at a time. You'll max out around 2000-2050 fps with your 10" barrel, and most loads in the 7 TCUs with this powder exhibit excellent accuracy. For deer, I'd stick with the load that gave the best accuracy with at least 1950 fps velocity.

I recommend Rem 7 1/2s as the best overall primer in the high-intensity small calibers.
