Did you hear it? You should see the grin on my face!!!!! The postman delivered my freshly rechambered (BEAUTIFUL work by OTT) 350 Remington Magnum Competitor barrel at 3:00 and I couldn't wait to shoot it! I loaded up some mid range loads with IMR 4064, one 180 grain bullet with 59 grains, one 200 grain bullet with 58 grains and one 225 grain bullet with 57 grains.......fired the 180 first......recoil not too bad....200 grain next.....recoil noticeably increased...... 225 grain.....BOOM! *******This one is a hammer!!!******* Recoil is ..... managable .....yes, that's the word......not fun, not invigorating.....but manageable.....no flat primers, everything looks good on the cases......no high pressure signs.........but I'm having problems with ejection. I have heard that ejection isn't the best feature of the Competitor..........the manual even suggests lightly lubing the chamber (yes, you read it correctly! ;-) I may try it and see what happens? I figure the recoil will be tamed a bit when I get the scope and mounts on it........ As soon as I get my scope situation figured out, I'll be testing for accuracy and I'll report back.
