I have had two Contender pistols one Blue in 223 my friend talked me into selling him, and a Stainless Steel in 22 match that I sold because I wanted a Smith & Wesson 10 shot 22 revolver (it was a piece of junk I wish I had kept the Contender). Now I want a Stainless Encore Pistol with a 50cal black powder barrel and Rifle to match. I also want a rifle caliber barrel for the pistol, but cant decide on what caliber. Contenders are very addictive especially a gun addict like my self. A 30-30 would be fun, but so would a 308, and how about a 44mag, or another 223 so many calibers and so little money.......

Let us know how your friends 30-30 performs post some pics of his groups.

The sad part of the ongoing story!

The 30-30 barrel from Ed came in yesterdays mail. He mounted the barrel and for some reason the hammer will NOT come back.

He called this morning hoping I had the magic answer so he could at least cock his new G2. I had to break the news to him that I have NEVER seen a G2 except in pictures. Luckily I had TCs number in my Rolodex at the office and I hope they got him set up.

Who knows maybe he was lucky because he was going to test it with factory 170 grain loads and that may have soured him on the TC for a day or two!

TCLouis, does that barrel have a two-piece extractor? I was told that the G2 won't work without them. I have a G2 and had to change out the one piece extractor in a .357 Mag barrel in order for it to work on the G2. However, if I recall, it wouldn't even latch closed. I love my G2!

Do you mean the one or two piece locking lugs slung underneath the barrel?

a problem with having all of those extra barrels is that you will then find that another frame or two is good so you don't have to change the barrels as often
