Recent posts have made me think. The comments of having your dollar speak particularly struck me. Whether or not you have had problems, I sometimes do not get the feedback to make improvements. I like to think that I am continually trying to improve myself. Therein lies the reason for this post. There are times when I get to busy and lose sight of why I chose to put myself on the phone in this particular company. If you would please drop me an e-mail and let me know if I, or anyone in the company can make some improvements. I have seen in several post on this board, and others, where specifics were not mentioned for arguments sake I am sure. I would like to hear some specific input and feedback. Good or bad

Please send e-mail to dave$virginvalleyguns.com (replace dollar sign with @)
In the subject line please put Improve this

Thanks in advance for those who provide input.

I'd like to lodge a complaint against Jeff. He's an ass. He's also a little funny looking. [Wink]

Hi Dave,

Just so you know, the post i made on the Bellm thread IS NOT making reference to your company. I have yet to purchase anything from your company. I have made a couple inquiries and my questions were answered promptly. One day i will be sending a couple bucks your way. [Big Grin]

EDIT: BTW, it was that "funny lookin" Jeff guy that i corresponded with. [Wink]

Funny looking ass Jeff [Wink] , and Dave. Tell redding to hurry up on those custom 6.5 dies and send em to me along with the Encore barrel. Give me two weeks at the benches and I promise I'll give you some feedback.....
Be careful guys..being proactive might cause you to have to hire additional staff...to keep up with the new work and praises!!!!!!!
I'm looking forward to working with your gear.

I have a 257 WBY barrel (Shilen Surpreme) and a 300/221 (Wilson Blank Dumpoff Sale). The only disappointment I had was I was hoping the 257 would handle the smaller bullets(85 gr), but it prefers the larger size bullets (115 gr). I'm not sure if you have any control over that.
It actually became an advantage when my Elk rifle started having problems just before the season. One shot with a 120 Gr Grandslam filled my freezer for the winter.

Yes, we have some 6mm stubs. If you get back with me on Monday, I can check and see what we've got.

Also, we do pillar bedding in synthetics as well

Hey VV Jeff, I'll let you in on a secret, the success of your company hinges on my approval of the Encore Rifle forend I have on order with you. It is for the 1 inch diameter 22 lr (no adapter) barrel from OTT. If I like it your company will enjoy success for many years to come. If not you are history. JUST KIDDING!!! You guys are great, looking forward to the forend, I know it will be nice. I'm still enjoying the Rolling Block you guys barreled for me. Now that was a first rate job. Keep up the good work.

Steve E.......

i have no complaints with vvcg service. well pleased with the looks, shooting, etc. of my 13" stainless 6br encore barrel. it arrived in a timely fashion also.
a little die problem(as it turned out) arose a little while back. vvjeff says, no problem send it in and i'll check out the barrel for you. i sent it in for a checkup, it turned out the redding full length die was not sizing enough. jeff recommended giving redding a holler. redding replaced the die. great service from both companies.
dang it! now if i could just get time to shoot the thing. if you all could improve on that, i'd be really happy! hehehe! [Big Grin] thanks

When I ordered my Stainless-Steel 15" 6mm T/CU I mainly talked to Steve & Jeff at VVCG. They were very straight forward, and quite helpful. Then the surprise came, my barrel actually arrived 2 to 3 weeks sooner than Steve had told me to expect it.

After getting the barrel all set up to shoot I was at first a little disappointed in that the throat was longer than I had hoped for. However after shooting it the disappointment went away. So far I have been totally pleased with the Accuracy & Velocity this barrel is providing.

I have customs from several of the big T/C Custom houses and found my VV .25 Classic to be equal to (in all dimensions...fit, apprearance, engraving, interior finish, etc) to SSK which many consider to be the king of T/C Custom houses...which I think is exceptional for being such a young company. Hopefully you fellas will age like fine wine and not sour apples.

I gotta tell ya, all the work I have from VVCG,Bullberry,SSK,Bellm,Van Horn and now MBM/OTT are just about as good as it gets. Fit and finish on all of them have been outstanding to me. They all shoot as good as I can shoot. What more can ya ask for?
With Ga. Jim now making custom wood for contenders and soon Encores at a really great price I think we have it all covered.
Oh,I'm sure there are others doing good work also but these are the guys I deal with now {except for Jones}LOL! and have no reason to go anywhere else [Wink]
My thanks to all of you for jobs well done.

I'm a highly critical person that never gives praise unless I think it's earned and unless I'm sincere about it.

Frankly.... I think the guys at Virgin Valley are a class act and I'd do business with them ANYTIME. I've bought two barrels from them new and a couple of theirs used off the net.

They're incredibly accurate, they look GREAT, and they hardly foul at all.... What else can I say?

I've only spoken to Steve (except maybe once to Jeff and once to Dave?) but received very fast and courteous treatment each time.

VVCG get's an A++++++++ in my book.

Thanks Guys!!!! Now... Does that get me a discount?... [Big Grin]

Jeff,
When there is an error with a barrel do you compensate the customer for damages ?
Just curious as how far you go to satisfy a customer if there is an error .

Dave and Jeff,

I have purchased three barrels from you guys and everyone of them was outstanding. I have no complaints when it comes to the quality of your work.

However as I said in a previous post I think that most of the custom barrel makers could improve their information gathering abilities via improvements to their websites. This to me has no direct effect on barrel quality, but does provide both you and the customer a clear understanding of the work to be done and would lessen the chances of manufacturing or ordering mistakes.

Either way I think it's great that you guys ask for input from your customers. [Big Grin]

One suggestion is to ask for throat a length. I was hoping my 257 WBY would handle the smaller bullets, but really the throat was too long for ideal bullet jump when using the smaller bullets.
But don't offer to fix it. This barrel shoots the larger bullets so well I'm not sending it back.

I'm not sure what you mean by damages. If you mean ruined brass and time spent, then no we don't compensate for that. We will always stand by the barrel and replace it if need be, however if you get into replacing components spent in working up loads, it opens up a large can of worms. So, we draw the line at simply replacing our own product.

Jeff,
It does make good sense that your cover the barrel and the rest is up to the customer.

Thought it would make for good PR .

Can see how fast this could get crazy and out of hand.

Thanks for the response.
