What about this caliber can anyone tell me more..?

I believe VVGC makes two versions of the .338. Aat least a friend of mine has two of them. One is based on a reformed 45/70 case and the other is a necked up 300WSM case. If I remember correctly he is running 200 gr slugs around 2700 fps from his 15 inch tube. I think 180,s run about 2800. He has a VVGC custom stock set that is real heavy to help dampen the recoil but it is still a handful..though it kicks no harder than my .358JDJ on a contender frame.
