I still have a extra XP-100 laying around. Just curious if any body has a XP in 375 Whisper or the 50X2.5 from SSK. Or if you have one of these for sale.Like any info that you might have on these. I have been to SSK web site,but would like to talk to someone that has one of these and have shot them.

The 50 would be rather costly to shoot,but the whisper with the suppresser is going to cost a lot right up front. Wade

If you can get a blank. I may be interested in buying half of it for my switch barrel XP, I have fought off the urge for a 30 x 1 1/2 308 wisper. Having a lot of fun with sub sonc MKIV.

Shoot cast with the 50 2.5" and it won't break the bank. In fact, you ought to have no problem getting full patch velocities, and you'll be operating at what I consider the ideal cast bullet velocity of 1800 fps.

I haven't shot one of those beasts, still waiting on my 500 Jeffrey rifle.

The 50 Alaskan loads that I show go 300gr at 2500fps a 400gr at 2166fps and a 453 at2013fps all of this in COTW book the 9th edtion on SSK page it say that a 50x2.5(460 Weatherby opened up to 50 caliber)will push a 600gr at 1900fps plus being a bolt action I think it will hold up better. All of this out of a 13" barrel.I think it would take a groung hog at 100yds.

Paul did you shoot a 50x2.5 if so what length barrel?

No,

I've never shot one. Just thinking that with heavy cast bullets, it would be relatively affordable to shoot.

HHI6818;

RVO is where I get my 50BMG bullets for my 50-70-750SSK barrel.It is 18" long and it does 1100fps with the 647gr,tracers are a lot of fun out of it,they will go for ever it seems.Would like to push them twice that fast in a handgun.Still not cheap.

I shoot a 12" SSK Encore in .50 Alaskan. With 450 gr. Barnes original I get 1727 fps.
475 gr. hard cast go 1716.5 fps.
570 gr. Woodleighs clock at 1445 fps.
750 gr. A-Max leave at 1125 fps.

At maximum loads recoil, as you can imagine, is attention getting.
