I finally got out and did some load development with my MOA Maximum in 260 Remington today. I was only shooting 3-shot groups, but all of them were under one inch range(.988, .800, .662, .655, .590, and .500). I am using Varget (37.5 & 38.5 were the best groups) with a Federal Large Rifle Match Primer and 120 Grain Nosler BT's. Once I get a better rest system set-up for this, I can't wait to see what it will do. Now my daughter has a load that is more than accurate enough for deer hunting this year. I am a happy camper. xphunter [ 11-20-2002, 03:48: Message edited by: xphunter ]

So far my 260 rem 14" encore SS hvy varmint barrel from VVC seems to be easy going. I only had 6 rounds loaded and 15 minutes to shoot and they put 3 in .75" at 50 yds. Before you say this isn't great understand that I had loaded the starting load from nosler using 120 gr BT over 45 gr RL-19. Can't wait to see what it will do when I have time to put together some other loads and give it the attention it deserves. Any input welcomed on other good loads. Since this is my first high power pistol barrel any advice would be welcomed. Thanks.

Outlawsix, One thing I do is to seat the bullet so it engages the rifling to the point it makes a "Square" mark on the bullet. But not so deep that it pulls the bullet out of the case. This can increase pressure so always back down on your powder before trying this. I would encourage that you read Bellm's material on shooting TC's and Encores. He says it better than I could. xphunter
