Since I can't make my Contender shoot cast bullets really well, I'm thinking of selling it and buying a Savage Striker in 308. Anybody have experience with the Striker and cast?
Thanks;

what is your problem with the loads? I shot a super 14 30-30 for several years with cast bullets and had it shoot better than I did.

I've not been able to get my Contender to group five group 5 shot averages = 25 shots under 2" at 100 yards reliably. This in 32/20, 30/30, 6.5 TCU and currently 7 TCU. I've corresponded on this forum, on Greybeard, and on the CB-L. I can get most rifles to shoot cast bullets under 1 1/2" averages, and revolvers to group under 6". I don't see many Contender shooters in the LRH category in the Cast Bullet Association matches. I read about a lot of small cast groups in contenders, but wonder. All the barrels shot jacketed bullets well, the 7 TCU averages at or under 1 1/2" for 5 five shot groups at 100 yards.
