GB has listed this info and has the barrel up for sale. Sounds thorough? in his testing techniques. Is his offer price sound fair? Thanks, Jeff [ 09-27-2002, 15:05: Message edited by: jb HHI 7241 ]

I don't think you could go wrong with that barrel!Don't forget Mike did that barrel for a product test. After all the BS that went on I can't imagine that GB shot it all that much. I just wonder if he would sell it to anyone over here? I would love to have someone buy it & give an independant opinion on the barrel & it's performance. One last thing I don't know what GB payed for it but 250 & 20 for the dies are reasonable in my opinion. I found the review of the barrel after this post so I figured that I would add that I wouldn't have any problem buying this barrel. I would probably try a couple of different powders as well. In my experience I haven't found H322 to be the best powder out there. I did mange to get better results with other powders in other cartridges. Despite the arguments between the two people the review wasn't too bad either. Rich Jake [ 09-27-2002, 20:44: Message edited by: Rich Jake ]

A custom shop 35 Rem ss Super 14" + a Bellm Rechamber (and I think re-crown?) IMO that is a very good price. You could not go wrong with that purchase. Dies are reasonable too. I don't know why he wouldn't sell it to someone from over here. Money is money...give it a try.

All in all it looks like a good review other than the juvenile "shots" at the beginning in his prefacing remarks. That's a very decent price for the barrel, BTW Regards

Hold it. Bellm reworked barrels don't have any resale value. Remember that thread? His cost was what he paid initially for the original .35 Rem. barrel and shipping to me. Plus the dies and mount if such are included. Not saying the barrel is not a good buy, but just that I find it interesting that he is not pursuing his personal stated goal for his own uses of the barrel, and now Bellm's work has resale value.... but we knew that all along. Interesting, too, that he was told AA 2520 in Don's tests did not perform at all at the pressure levels recommended. You have to run the pressures up on 2520 to get it to sing. Yet he was determined to make it work. You will note that the accuracy loads were with the recommended H322 powder.... from memory. Correct me if I'm wrong. As is typical of ole Bill, he always manages to get his facts mixed up a bit, but at least the information on the barrel did actually see the light of day. Funny how I can be too busy to do something timely, but it is ok for him to dilatorious. That was the gas on the fires of conflict that started the flame in the first place. In case you fellers get to squabblin' over that barrel, I still have the original .358 Bellm test barrel that did not sell off of the old Tripod website. I will be dropping the price on it and posting it to the store in the next couple days. I started to before the family came in for their annual visit, but knew I wouldn't get far with the project until after they left.... which was this afternoon. Had a great time. Caught one chinook salmon, ran Class 4 rapids with Sis again this year, and otherwise got my batteries recharged. That was the first salmon I've ever pulled in, and let me tell you, it may have only been about 16 pounds, but those suckers CAN put up a fight! Strong fish. If you want a peak at the fish and can get past my mug, email me. Mike
