If you are going to shoot IHMSA, I would recommend the center grip. If you are going to shoot off bags and you like the boomers, the rear grip is the way to go. Different strokes............ Regards...g

I'll be honest, I am new to xp-100(r)s. I am curious how people feel about a centergrip versus a rear grip. Does one "point" better than the other, etc?

I gather that the rear grip would perhaps be better for the heavier rounds. Is the repeater option on the rear grip a particular attractive feature to most y'all?

Anyway, I have some experience with the 6 BR, 6.5 BR, and 7 BR (albeit in rifles), so I think I would look for/build one of these. Though a 250-3000 sounds pretty good too...

Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated. TIA.

If you ever have pole-vaulted you may like the rear grip!
seriously I have 2 center grips for varmints and the rear grips have no appeal to me.
Like said before different strokes

For my primary purposes which are hunting I prefer the center-grip XP's. If I had a XP built "only" for bench shooting I would probably go rear grip, but on the old single-shot action for more rigidity.

BTW I use center-grip XP's in cartridges ranging from 250 Sav Rob Ackley Imp. to the 7.82 Patriot with a light sporter barrel.
