I bought a 10" stainless .45/.410 barrel for my Contender last spring. I used it a few times at the skeet range (my best was 5 of 25) and a few times grouse hunting (all the grouse are safe and healthy so far). I'm interested in using it for deer. I've killed a few deer with my 10" 30/30 barrel, but would like to try the .45 Colt. The sights that came on the barrel are poor. The plastic rear sight was loose in the dovetail. I drilled and slotted it so a small screw could be added to lock it in place. I have yet to fire a round of .45 Colt through it. Does anyone use this barrel for hunting with the .45 Colt round? Do you know of any aftermarket sights for it or gunsmiths who do a good sight replacement for it? Thanks for any information, Bob Scott

Now this isn't official just what I've heard.. those 45/410 barrels aren't very accurate for the 45 colt side of the picture because of the distance the bullet has to jump to the lands due to being made for the longer 410 shotgun round. But I'd be interested in hearing your results with this as I am contemplating getting one for mine to try and shoot some quail and it would be interesting to shoot the 45 colt out of it also. Just a rumor monger posting rumors...
