I have been a single shot longarm hunter since god knows when, but pistol shooting is something knew. I was sifting through the 2004 gun buyers guide one day, looking for a nice pistol in the .357 magnum cartridge and, being a single shot hunter, found an interesting pistol: the IAR Rolling Block. I have done some google searches but have come up with nothing on the pistol. If anyone as any experience or knowledge of the gun, I would greatly appreciate the help. Arctic Gun

http://www.iar-arms.com It's a repro of the Remington Rolling Block pistol available in various cartridges. That was our military pistol at on time in .50. I have an original in 22 that is a very fine target pistol.I have not seen a IAR version.

Arcticgun I just got an 1871 Rolling Block Carbine in 357 Magnum, It is a Uberti as I think all of those imported are. I got it from EMF (1-800-430-1310) Ask for Gary or Steve, they were a little cheaper than IAR(1-877-722-1873). I believe they brought in a few pistols with this order of rifles. At any rate only a few 1871 Rolling Blocks rifle or pistols are imported a couple of times a year. Can't wait to get it on the range, hope to take a Whitetail back home with it. Steve E......... i have an uberti rolling block in .357 mag. the rear sight is a simple inexpensive one, but works. i only use it for plinking, it is a fascinating gun. i like the way you have to cock the hammer than roll the block back. i have occasional misfires with factory .357 but never with .38 spl??? cases extract with no problems and cases appear normal. haven't had the money to send it to a gunsmith. would love to be able to chamber and rebore it to .45 schofield. its a gun i won't sell or trade.
