If you like hunting with a specialty handgun and would like to take a Bull elk without having to climb a mountain I just recently found a place near where I live. There may be some cow hunting but only in conjunction with bulls. It could be a time where at least four or five hunters could get together from the forum and meet, eat, and hunt together.

Please contact me if interested.

XP,

I would like some information on that deal.

Also, been playing with the bedding block and made some changes to it. The major one is that I am going to convert the real action screw to the much larger and stronger 1/4x28 action screw just like the front.

That little 8-36 rear screw has always bothered me with the larger rounds. Anyway, I hope to have the block bedded in the stock by this weekend to see how it does on the range with the 338 WSM and then try it on the 6.5 WSM when the barrel and reamer finally show up.

What do you think of the larger rear action screw idea?

Thanks,

Concerning the elk:
Due to some questions you guys have sent I just got off the phone with Keith and have some specific prices and better info:
Hunting is just north of Hutchinson, KS. I live in Hutchinson. He can house up to 4 hunters at one time at his place at no extra cost. Meals are on your own nickel.

Concerning bulls:
7x8 (non-typical) bull scoring 330-350 range $4,000 7x8 scoring 340-360 for $4,200, Uniform 7x7 (320-340) $3900, 7x6 $3,800 (315-330), Wide 6x6 (320-340) $3800, 6x6 (340-360) $3900, small bodied 7x6 (315-335) $3500, 2-6x5's $1600, 6x6 $2000, and 2-5x5's $1500, 2-Raghorn bulls (5x4 $1100 & 4x4 $1000)

On a group of four or more hunters if at least 2 bulls are taken you will discount $100 per bull and $50 per cow ($450). Normal price for a cow is $500.

50% deposit required. He has no website.
If you want pictures of specific bulls, please let me know, they can be sent to you. As far as hunting conditions go, Keith said he could make this as hard as you want or easier (depending on age or physical limitations). Hunting is on a 60 acre patch of land (fenced) that has a lot of trees.

Personally, I really like the concept of the larger rear screw.
