Do you have a short 44 magnum barrel, or a barrel chambered for a shorter 44 cartridge - 44 special, 44 Russian, etc. - or what? If it is a 44 magnum then an 8 inch barrel with no cylinder gap is anything but short, pistol-wise. I don't use bullets that light in my 44s but I use published data for H110 when seeking maximum velocity. Good hunting!

Short 44
Might I suggest AA#5 with the 200 grain bullet. It will zip right along using the upper loading levels in AA's manual and shoots very well outa my RH with 200 XTPs.

Yes its a 44 mag T/C with an 8" bbl, but it has 7" of usable bore to it. I want to hear what you guys are using to get the most out of 200gr bullets in +/- 7". Thanks
