Bobby Congrats on the barrel. W748 should work well under those light 30 cal pills but burns a little dirty as I'm sure you know. Ive been itching to try some RL-10x in my 15" 308 tube...it is working very well form me in some other cases, 6BR and .223

Sounds like a geat barrel.
I'm pretty sure you already know this:
Have you considered Improving it (slightly rough chamber)?
You could build the brass off the 307 Win case (If I remember right). This would give you some of the strongest brass out there and increase your ability to put more slower burning powder in and at the same time allow improved design of the case grip the chamber walls thus reducing backthrust on your frame.
Of course the only reason for all this effort would be to push it a little faster with the same or less backthrust on the action than you had with the 300 Savage brass.
Of course you could do the same thing and still use the savage brass and be just about the same.
Oh well, here I go rambling again.

Are you going to shoot in it's original barrel length before you shorten it?
Whatever you do I look forward to hearing how it performs for you in terms of accuracy & MV's.
