I got my new barrel the other day. I bought it from Ed's Contenders. He is a good perosn to deal with, every thing was as stated. The barrel is a 10" 30 Herrett. I got a set of Lee dies from Midway and the brass from E Arthur Brown. I loaded 40 rounds and today I tried it out. I didn't shoot it from the bench so I don't know how good it will group. I did set up 10 hedge apples out at 50 yards and after adjusting the elevation I was able to hit 8 out of ten of them with 110gr Sierra over 22.5 gr of 2400. I also tried 125gr HP FN Sierra over 21gr of 2400. I shot a Locust tree that was 5" in diameter and they went through it. All loads seemed accurate,as all the shooting was dun off hand. The last load I tried was 135gr HP over 26gr of Reloader #7. I took out two branches off the locust with 10 shots. As I said all shots were off hand and I really enjoyed my self with the new toy. When the snow is gone and it is a little warmer I will try it from the bench. With no more time than I have spent with the reloads I know it will get much better. I am very impressed with the 30 Herrett. I am thinking of having the old 30-30 rechambered for the 308 Bellm. Thank you much for your help gentleman.

According to the manual you should be up around 2300 fps with the 110 grainers and around 2100 fps with the 125s. I have some 110s loaded, but have not shot them across the chronograph. I tried some 2400 with 130 Hornady's and they wer so inaccurate I quit! Maybe I should give it another chance! LouisB I will load some Remington 110s this week and send them across the screens and report after next weekend. LouisB Oops ad a week to that . . . to placate theowner of the property the range is on, they now close the first weekend of the month!
