Hi all, not to let anybody down, please see some studio pictures of the Tanfoglio Raptor-EAA Thor on this forum too. This one is the 2005 edition, with brushed, ported and fluted barrel, this one in .308 Winchester with Nikon 2,5-8x28 Nikon scope, Warne rings and Hogue Cocobolo wraparound grips. Nicola Bandini.

Another one: same version of the gun, but in .45-70, with Hard Chrome brushed finish. This one is the lightest Raptor-Thor with the .500 S&W Magnum, tilting the scales at about 5,5 pounds as pictured. Nicola Bandini.

Set-up with a 16 inch barrel with a brake or ported, a 7 WSM with the right twist will have the capability to shoot a flatter trajectory (at LR) than any other cartridge mentioned. Not sure how the performance of a 7WSM compares to a 284 or 280 in a 14 inch barrel. The WSM probably outruns it, but is it enough to justify more recoil for the gain--I'm curious on this question. Preference on cartridges that are larger than the 06/284 I would want a 16 inch barrel.

Hi folks, Ernie you are right and I am eager to shoot with the 7 WSM as you are...we are starting work on 270 Wsm, 7 Wsm, 7-08, 8 Jrs and .500 S&w next week. I cannot promise anything on the 16, but seen the results on 14 I might well try and make one special up...The good thing is that the lot of barrels from Lothar Walther in next week are all fluted, so they will make up the good looking irons... We are also adding the standard swivel Harris Bypod screw standard to the forend, whiwh we friendly call "the crocodile" (looking from the side) That's it for now, more later. Ciao to all, Nicola Bandini.

Another one, this time the photographer is not me, but giant colleague Ichiro Nagata. This is a picture of the Thor loading bay, with .45-70: please see the massive rear end of the integral barrel and the CNC machined Weaver-Picatinny rail. Also see the lower cross-bar: this was a 4th safety we added to prevent slam-fires upon closing the action violently while the hammer is resting on the firing pin. The gun will always open, with the cross-bar camming the special hammer away, but will not close unless the hammer is set to half cock (strongly advised) or full cock (and side lever safety on please). Grip safety is present and working as standard Colt. Good shooting this weekend everybody, Nicola Bandini.
