Several forum leaders at Sp are not subscribers, nor are they pressured or required to be. SP thrives without either bob or sean's sphere of influence and innuendo of back room dealing.

Why don't you quote this "innuendo" that you refer to... "Back room dealing"??? bewildered

Or maybe you know something we don't? rotflmo rotflmo rotflmo

Heck... Innuendo is nothing but an Italian suppository anyway... lol

Kyode-

No matter what it was, if 45nut considers looking only at the classifieds of a forum as self-serving, then listing a link in every post is no different. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of his statement.

I usually try and shy away from posts as his, but I consider Bob & Sean among my friends, though I've never actually met them. But I didn't take kindly to the cheap shots aimed at them by 45nut.

There is a huge difference, which Bob already pointed out. The forum divisions here are for the most part individual and self-sustaining. Over at SP, it is a great many shades of almost the same thing, give or take a few exceptions, and the OVERALL sum total posting frequency collectively of all forums [or rather infrequency] there reflects this.

It does get quite boring to me to read the same 20 or so guys posting to one another a couple times a week over there, which of course is also why I said TO EACH HIS OWN. If you like it, fine. Woo Hoo for you. This is a discussion that included opinions about different forums etc, and I simply provided my own opinion, likes, and dislikes, along with a few facts regarding my personal experiences over there.

You seem to want to make this conversation more specific, so what follows is posted as necessary to answer your several aspersions.

We all do legitimate self serving things all the day long. Eating, reading posts we like, etc. Buying guns we like, for ourselves. I suppose that as such a gunbuyer for yourself, then this makes you self serving too, eh?

To the point of my liking the classifieds section at SP, I was simply pointing out a bright spot to a site I do not otherwise enjoy. To take a cheap pot shot and construe this as negative and wrongly self serving in and of itself says more about you and your intent in so doing than it does about me.

It is sad that the owner and/or forum leaders at SP, all Americans I believe, censor speech and edit or delete posts at that site. Bob wrote of this in one of his posts. These deleted posts of Bob's were posts at SP which simply told the truth to hold OTT accountable to a group deal awhile back, one which Sirios did eventually and after some very long delays, do the right thing on. No further issues with that Deal. And now, after that, someone intentionally dishonestly labels my posts as "under 20 posts" when any fool can see right below that that I have over 100 posts there, yet Saeed, who provides these forums for free and censors nothing, who keeps this place open for all to enjoy regarding Free Speech AND our right to keep and bear arms, gets insulted by you. Talk about self serving posturing and maneuvering.......

The only "back room dealing" I have experienced in all of this is the protection at SP that was extended to Mike Sirois when he was delinquent and extremely late on the group purchase, Bob, myself, and others attempted to hold him accountable, and the SP crowd, many recieving other OTT barrels throughout the entire time delay of the deal BTW, protected OTT to the hurt and delay of other non-SP buyers who were simply trying to get through what turned in to a negative experience. We got through it, Sirois made good, yet Bob and myself recieved silly posting restrictions at SP and got the petty dishonest labels of having "under 20 posts." Now if anything could, then THAT definately might smell of "back room dealing" to me.

Yeah, SP THRIVES, and does so on 20 to 30 guys all posting to one another. I know, I know, the site claims hundreds of new members every month, yet the traffic seems to suggest that except for 20 to 30 of these guys, the other "hundreds" all must have broken keyboards, or 95% of the SP population are the silent typeWink

Oh well. I guess because Bob and I simply did not "drink the koolaid," we therefore are not entitled to our own opinions and cannot understand..... Big Grin

Much appreciated, as I had to pull back-to-back double shifts in the ER this weekend and could not respond until now. Though I have never met you in person, I have gotten to know you through your posts over the years and have always considered you amongst my friends Big Grin

If you are ever going through Virginia, contact me and stop by cheers

Sean,

I'd forgotten about that part. If I remember correctly, I never did take Mike to task about that but maybe I should have. Oh well it's history now and I've been tarred and feathered for telling it like it was... animal

I never DID get thrown off the pond but SP was quite an experience for me... I guess I never was too politically correct and was always good at getting both my size 10's in my mouth at once... stir

OH Well... I guess I'll go feed my deer... thumb

Hey Bobby... If you ever get tired of shooting those skimpy Texas deer you can come pop a couple of my giant does I've been feeding... I have one that was a spotted fawn when I moved here that's quite a big gal now... She oughta be right tender... cheers

Sean... When you get out from under all the dang double shifts let's go blow up some prairie dogs eh? beer

Well it has been a while since I stopped in and have not been on the Chat in forever.

Work and family have kept me away.
I do visit SP, Bellm and David White's Precision Rifle site when possible.

With so many other types of forums availabe for Varmit hunting, Preditor Hunting it speads out the time available for surfing.

One BRIGHT spot is that the Encore Pro Hunter is ingreat demand and many new people are coming into the single shot family via the 209-50 front loader then converting over to center fire. they are now learning what we knew many years ago, That the T/C is a great shooting system. We just figured it out before the put fancy engraving on our guns to make us feel like Pro's.
