I have a 45/410 bbl that I want to get some use out of.My idea is to use 444 marlin brass neck it up to 45 cal .451 and blow the case out to basically a 2 1/4 45 colt.the rim will work, and will blow the case out almost straight.this will let me use 300 grain and up bullets.the reason for the 444 brass is to fill the 3" chamber of the 410.Any thoughts or comments before I load some?
I tried a search and nothing turned up.I do remember seeing discussions on the 450 Mongo in the past.Could anyone shed some light on forming and loading for this round? Rick

If I remember correctly, The rim counterbore of my barrel is around .528". The rim diameter of a 9.3 x 74R is .526". Case length is 2.941". Would it be possible to blow out a 9.3 x 74R and load it up a .410 shotshell in the brass?
I've been wondering about this for a couple of years now. If anybody has some 9.3 x 74R cases or loaded boxer primed ammo, I'd be glad to try it and report the results. "The brass is too expensive to buy and do this experiment if it doesn't work". I have often wondered why somebody doesn't offer boxer or 209 primed .410 brass and 7/8-14 dies to load the 410 in a metallic press.

Read a post somewhere on the net where you could take a 303 Brit. expand it out and have a viable .410 brass case for reloading. The advantages are readily aviable and cheap. Hope this helps.
