For years, I have used a load consisting of 32 grains H335, Rem 7 1/2s and the Nosler 120 grain Ballistic Tip. From the 14.5" barrel of an XP, it gives a fraction over 2400 fps and superb accuracy -- with sufficient power for 200 yard whitetail. This load has proven perfectly safe in a number of XPs, but please start around 29 or 30 grains and work up with all due caution. The Sierra 130s are no longer produced, but there are still plenty of them out for distribution. Also start around 29 grains of H335 and work up in half-grain increments. This bullet is wonderfully accurate, and you can expect to drive it at 2300-2350 fps. Out to 200 yards, it works very well, but beyond that, do keep in mind that it does not have the same low-velocity expansion potential as the Ballistic Tip.

28.5 grains of ReLoader 7 and the 120 grain Nosler BT will give you somewhere in the 2420-2450fps range in your pistol and if like all the other 7BR's I've tried it in which is a bunch, should give you about the best accurracy f anything you've tried! The 120 grain Hornady VMAX using the same load is also extremely accurrate for varmints! GHD

I'm using the same load that GHD mentions. He suggested I try it in my XP100 and it is right on for fps and accuracy. I have not taken anything but a coyote but if it performs on a deer like it dit the coyote, lights out. Big Grin This load in my XP100 Centergrip 7BR is shooting <1/2" groups at 100 and 1.5" groups at 200. I have mine sighted 1" high at 100 and it's 2.5" low of center at 200yds. No signs of pressure, easy bolt lift on extraction.

Does anyone make 7mm/ 130's designed for 14" pistol velocities, like the discontinued Sierra SSP. I have only a few boxes left that my 7-30 loves to eat, and I'd hate to tease myself creating super 7BR loads using up what's left.
Is the Horn 120 V Max too explosive for deer, & do they make a 130-140 AMax???
Does this leave the Nos 120 BT as the only show in town? Thanks.

I have gone to the 139grn Hornady SST for my 7BR loads for a heavier bullet and heavier construction according to Hornady. It has a high (.486) BC. I loaded them and used the load on one whitetail. He went 10 yds and down. I wanted to use them on hogs but haven't got the chance yet. I shot some of the 130SSP bullets and the SST seems to shoot better with the same powder and primers.

I use the 139gr Hornady SPBT and SST with 28.3grs of Re-7 velocity runs 2300fps out of my 7BR XP. I get 1.542" groups at 250 yards! Please work-up to the load above.
