I've been unable to access the forum for almost a month now. It all started with the MSBLASTER worm followed by another worm and two viruses. I use Norton, but had updated about once a week. Somehow all these things got me even with weekly updateds. Luckily, I have a son who is a computer systems engineer. He took my machine and had to completely rebuild it. Now it seems to be working well.

So the warning is, Update your virus protection as the first step of turning your machine on. I am advised that doing it that way it is likely to catch any of those bad things before they get into your system.

During the down-time I also took a nice vacation trip and drove to Oregon to visit family and friends. During the trip I stopped in at Yachats for an invigorating chat with Bob Miller (mranch). We talked Contenders nonstop for a couple of hours and I was able to see all his Contender stuff. Neat stuff too. Bob is a first class shooter and hunter. Hope one day we have a chance to hunt together.

Glad to see you back in operation! I guess that I'll have to make it a daily thing to check for virus updates as well. I haven't had a chance to meet Bob yet but would like to one day. The last chance I had to meet some of these guys was excellent & I would still like to meet some more of them. Maybe one day we can get a shoot going somewhere where all of us can meet & shoot & talk T/C's [Big Grin]

Glad to see you back Don. I know you have Norton but I'd recommend Panda Titanium to you wholeheartedly. It updates automatically every day and has an easy user interface. Really is not an intrusive program either, works in the backround without screwing everything up. Zone Alarm is on the list too for a very good FWall.

Regards

One thing you can do in not use Outlook as your mail program. Since most viri are Outlook ones, using another mail client make you immune. I use Eudora which can be had for free but there are others. Good luck keeping virus free.
