Have any of you guys tried one of these? If so, are they any good to hunt with? I fooled with some BP handguns, rifles and shotguns when I was in highschool, some what fun but hated to clean the darn things. I have not tried one of the inline ignition types, as I have heard that some states won't allow them.
This would just be whitetails at say 50-75 yards.

One of my friends has a 209x50 barrel. Shooting 100 gr. of Triple 7 and a 300 gr. Barnes Expander, he's getting about 1.5" groups at 100 yards. In fact, he's taking it to Maine next week on a bear hunt.

I haven't had the opportunity to shoot it yet, but I've been thinking of getting one. Only bad thing is that I can't use it as a pistol during the special muzzleloading season. Have to use the big Encore for that. [Smile]
