I finally had a chance to shoot my XP-100 I purchased from Groundhog Devistation!!
If you ever get a chance to deal with Charlie he is a GREAT guy. If he was about 8 hours closer my wife would be very unhappy since I would be spending too much time shooting with him.
THANKS CHARLIE!

PS the gun must have a problem.... I shot 5 shots and ended up with one hole!!!! This is another gun that shoots better than I do. It was only 65 yards so my need of practice will show up at longer yardages

It must be something wrong with the way they manufactured those xp-100's!! My 7mmBr xp-100 is the same way. I shoot the first shot...then the other 4 miss the target completely. Of course if the first shot shoots that way on game you will not need the others.

The one hole looked like a strange clover leaf
hhmmmmmmm it was larger than the bullet diameter
lol
I showed the target to my shooting buddy and he is convinced that I do not shoot that well

hairtrigger, Thanks for the compliment and news of the performance! Likewise, if hairtrigger is doing business with you then you will be dealing with a first class guy!!! Now go pop some long range varmints with that 7BR! Welcome to the 7BR fan club! GHD

hairtrigger, Did you use that 28.5 grains of Reloader 7 load with the 120VMax's or the Nosler BT's? Typical results with either!!! GHD

If it did that good then you probably shouldn't change the load as I know what was in those!!! Did I give you OAL so you know how to set the seater? If not email me and I'll give you the measurements! GHD

The XP-100 7mmbr is my long range fun gun. though for close work, under 250yds you can't beat my XP-100 221 Fireball. Why oh Why did Remington ever quit making these!!! Another Collectors item???? Could be! Mine are NOT for sale. Their keepers.

doc-and, The rear grip XP-s just don't cut it!!! If you want a real fun handcannon, get yourself an old md-grip XP!!!! 221-7mmBR, Can't be beat!!!! Unless you want to spend $1000.00 or more for all the "extras"!!!! GHD

Groundhog Devastation, I could't agree more with you. Love my center grips wouldn't trade them for the world. Have considered having custom wood made for them as I think the plastic is funky but haven't done it yet. I bought each new when released by Rem. Had trouble with getting dies to form brass for the 7br, have a set of 6br form dies and just forget to run them through the last die down to 6br. I used the 7br for whitetails and hogs and long rang pdogs lots of fun against the rifle boys [Big Grin]

Good Shooting

I have to agree when it comes to those center-grip XP's. I just love em! Don't have a rear grip XP and don't intend to own one unless someone gives one to me. My smallest XP is a 250 Savage AI with the orginal stock and my largest is the 7.82 Patriot (416 Rigby shortened and necked down) with an H-S Stock. The other 2 XP's both have H-S stocks too. About the closest thing to the XP IMO is the H-S 2000 series handguns.

My only complaint with the xp's was the plastic stocks [Frown] and the plastic rib [Frown] on my 221fireball. One of these days I may get a wild hair up my a#$ and see about having a metal rib for my 221 and some wooden handles for both my 7br and 221. The laminate wood that is being produced now gives some interesting color combinations that would look good, esp. in the old Western Gunstock pattern. [Cool]

I purchased a wood stock from Midway back when they were a close out item. That stock is on my 221 Fireball. The 7BR came with a funky looking stock that is very functional.
I have not decided if I am going to move on the 7IHMSA dies and barrel or if they are keepers!

Hairtrigger, That stock on that one is pretty unique!! The one that 7mmNut from GB got is a Macmillan BR stock made from some kind of funky material!! Both were great!! In my honest opinion, Leave the BR barrel on the gun! The IHMSA barrel will shoot just as well BUT!!!!! you will use more powder and feel a little more recoil! If it ain't broke don't fix it! You can do as I told you and take the 7BR in to your smith and have him take a round off the threads and index it so the damn words don't read upside down! I'd have done it myself but didn't have a reamer in the shop at the time!!! The IHMSA barrel will index perfectly and will shoot great.....you need more brass than what I gave you!!! Just give me a 7BR and I'll be happy! My dream is to build a 7BR using an xp or Model 7 action, 20" Douglas or Shilen ultralight barrel, Borden, "1 Pounder" stock and come in with a complete rifle/scope combo(Leupold Compact) at about 5.5-6lbs! No better eastern whitetail carry gun could be had! Just wait till you direct one of those 120VMax's to the side of a deer's head! NOT RECOMMENDED if wanting to mount!!! GHD
