Hey guys, I have been out of the shooting sports for a while now and I want to sell an item I have to help fund a new hobby I have. I have a contender barrel that I'm thinking I should sell due to never using it anymore but I don't know how much I should ask for it. I used to shoot IHMSA but I live so far from the ranges now I don't feel like making the drive. I have a factory 10" blued bull 22 lr match with a full length scope rib mounted on it with a Bomar rear sight and a front blade that is adjustable for height and width. I also have a long front sight hood. Everything is in excellent condition and is very accurate even with cheap ammo. How much should I be asking for this setup ? Thanks

If you put it on eBay, you might get $175 for it if you were lucky. Of course, that isn't always predictable. If you happened to list the item when a couple of people had an interest in it, you might do better.

Thanks for your input but I think that's a little low. I did some research and found out that a new 10' 22 match barrel is $200 and the sight rail with sights and hood is another $150 so that's $350 to get the same setup new. I think I will ask $250 for it and see how it goes.

It is obvbious that you already know what you expect to get for the barrel.
Put it out there on one of the auction sites with a picture and you will get what you get. The highest bid will determine the "worth of the barrel, no matter what we say or you think. That way the prevailing whim of the bidders is all that will count in the end.

Yeah, I realized soon after posted this topic that duh!!! Why don't I just look up the prices of the same stuff new and base it of that. I was going to delete the post but I couldn't. I had forgotten how much the sight system had cost but I new pretty much what the barrel was worth.
