What is stamped on the bottom of the cases? Were using 444 marlin, 225win, 30/30win, 307win or whatever for these wildcats. I want to see a piece of brass that comes from the manufacture that is stamped 309JDJ or 358x444 Van Horn Custom or 308Bellm or 6mm Bullberry or 40/44woodswalker or anything other then it's original caliber. And where can I get factory loaded ammo that is stamped in these wildcat calibers?

Would be interesting to find out if Starline would make a run of, say .300 Whisper or .309 JDJ. Wonder how they would view "proprietary"? steve

quote:You can't. The factories have an agreement with the wildcatters not to make any such ammo. "Why?" you might ask. Because then it's not a wildcat. Kind of like not being able to buy moonshine from any of the larger distilleries.

Unless there have been SAMMI specs adopted for the particular round the factories will not load ammo for it - too much liability problem. However, if you want to pay the money, you can probably have brass made with about any "non-copyrighted" name on it you wish (or any copyrighted name if permission is given). But don't expect the brass manufacturer to stamp there name on it as well.

Starline has propriety deals. They make 500 Linebaugh brass for Buffalo Bore Bullets. They (seemingly) will only sell it to Buffalo Bore and Huntingtons.
